Sponsorships:
Of the many community organizations that Dr. Pappel and his staff have participated in, this year Dr. Pappel and his staff took part in the annual M.S. walk on April 26, 2009, and on Oct. 4, 2009 they participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure.
Scholarship Program:
Dr. Pappel this year, started an annual scholarship promoting athleticism and academics for students in all high schools from grades 8-12 in District 68, and in Port Alberni from grades 9-12. The Dr. John Pappel Academic/Athletic Scholarship is awarded to 1 male and 1 female from each grade in grades 8-12. The recipient is chosen based on student’s scholastic achievement and school team(s) involved. Each student will receive a cheque in the amount of $100.00 for their achievement and it will be presented at the year end Athletic Banquet or School Awards Ceremony.
